Concept:

After my death, I would like to be commemorated by an eternal flame burning inside a magic lantern. I myself would like to provide the flame. To this end, my body should be rendered like an animal carcass so that the resulting tallow can be used in the manufacture of the lantern's internal candles. The magic lantern should be situated inside an unadorned, small chamber with a few chairs for visitors, facing a screen made from a patch of my skin. Visitors can choose among a variety of slides to insert into the lantern. Some of these slides will be photos from my life, leading from early infancy to death. Since I can’t be certain that adequate forensic photos will be available to portray my demise, I have taken the precaution of letting myself be photographed in various stages of dying. From these, the executioner of this monument simply needs to select the one that is most befitting.

To accommodate random visitors who are merely interested in the delightful properties of the lantern, I would like to provide traditional slides, illustrating fairy tales, cave spelunking, or depicting national monuments.
